Legion of Honor and the de Young Museum in San Francisco

Planning Your Trip to the Legion of Honor and de Young Museums in San Francisco. The Legion of Honor and the de Young museum are only 10 minutes drive apart. Follow me as I show you where to park, what to expect, and just some general tips. The view from the Legion of Honor is amazing! You can see the whole Golden Gate Bridge. Both places have free parking. Both museums have the standard collection and cost $15 for adults and 17 year olds and under are free, and they have special touring exhibits for an additional fee. If you are a California resident check out the Discover and Go tickets online. You just need a library card and you can get free tickets to so many places. Until May 14 of 2023, John Singer Sargent’s work is displayed at the Legion of Honor, the exhibit is called Sargent and Spain. There are over 120 of his art pieces. The extra $28 fee to view his fabulous work is definitely worth it. And take the 1 hour tour with a docent if you can. At de Young be sure to take the elevator to the top of the observation tower. The view below is stunning. Both museums are amazing and I highly recommend visiting them if you like art and you will be in San Francisco or even if you live nearby and have never been yet.
