The district police and the army have conducted an anti-drug operation in Chaksutrapur Bashphon Colony, one of the drug hotspots in Bogra city. The operation, which was conducted from 12 noon to 2 pm on Tuesday, involved raiding more than fifty houses and recovering a large amount of drugs and cash for drug sales. Two people were arrested red-handed while selling drugs during the operation. More or less drugs were recovered from almost every house in the area during the operation. Sensing the presence of the army and police, big businessmen locked their respective houses and fled, but the police and army personnel broke the locks and recovered the drugs. According to the initial count, 166 bottles of Keru liquor, 30 bottles of domestic liquor, 45 kg of marijuana and 30,000 taka in cash for drug sales were recovered in the operation. Earlier, on May 29, members of the army's Bogra Sadar camp conducted an anti-drug operation overnight in the same area.
