Lassie - Episode #71 - "Hoax" – Season 3, Ep. 6 - 10/14/1956

Jeff and Porky, in arguing over what type of rescue dogs are best, play pranks on each other by sending Lassie for help, or getting her to come, on fake calls for rescue. But when Jeff is hurt and genuinely in need of help he is worried that his family will assume that he is just having a prank at their expense again. NOTE: In this episode Jan Clayton really shines in her role, bringing forth all the Broadway theater and award winning Oscar and Hammerstein's hit musical roles that she played (Magnolia in "Show Boat", and Julie Jordan in "Carousel") as leading lady. Her timing is perfect, and her vast range of character acting is just delightful to watch, especially in this episode.
