Lassie - Episode 100 - "Poverty" - Season 3, #35 (05/05/1957)

Gramps pleads poverty to a traveling tinker when Ellen tells Gramps to get rid of the tinker so she won't have to buy anything. But the whopper backfires when the tinker tells Jeff his family has no money, and Jeff begins to sell all his things, including Lassie, to help put some money back in the bank.
