Welcome Ceremony for President Frank-Walter Steinmeier of Germany and Signing of Guestbook

Malacañan Palace June 16, 2026 President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and First Lady Louise Araneta-Marcos warmly welcomed President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and Ms. Elke Büdenbender of the Federal Republic of Germany in Malacañan Palace during an arrival honors ceremony on June 16, 2026. The German President is on a three-day State Visit to the Philippines, the first by a German Head of State in 63 years. During the welcome ceremony, the national anthems of both countries were played and a 21-gun salute was accorded to President Steinmeier. This was followed by the two leaders inspecting the honor guards and introducing their respective delegation members.
