The Bells of Grantham, Lincolnshire
The church of St Wulfram in Grantham holds a ring of twelve bells. The back ten were cast in 1946 by John Taylor & Co and hung in a cast iron frame of the same date until 2013 when the bells were augmented to twelve. The augmentation was made possible with a bell cast in 2004 by John Taylor Bellfounders Ltd, and a newly cast bell by John Taylor & Co. A second bell cast by John Taylor Bellfounders Ltd in 2004 was hung as a 2#, allowing for a light ring of eight to be rung. The 1946 cast iron John Taylor & Co frame for ten was modified in 2004 by Hayward Mills Associates. The tenor weighs 32-1-11cwt and is tuned to C#. In addition to the change ringing peal, there is a sanctus bell cast in 1674 by Thomas Norris, weighing 1-2-10cwt and is tuned to G#. 12 bells, 32-1-11cwt in C#.
