Токарный станок Т-65. ЗАЩИТА и СМАЗКА ПОДШИПНИКОВ
On the headstock of the T-65 lathe, I replaced the oilers with wicks and put a protective felt ring on the bearing. I invite you to watch other videos on my channel in playlists Lathe MN-80. ЗАЩИТА и СМАЗКА ПОД... My lathe T-65 had oil cans in the headstock. I decided to replace them with wicks, as on most watch lathes, for example, on the Schaublin-90. I made the volume of the oil can the same as for the Schaublin-90. Details about the work of wick oilers are described and shown in one of my past videos "LUBRICATION SYSTEM of the spindle of watchmaking machines using the example of the S-1 machine": https://studio.youtube.com/video/-7bS... Before replacing the grease nipples, I decided to check if dirt has accumulated in the supply cavities of the PB bearings. I did not press the bearings out of the housing. Therefore, these cavities were simply washed with gasoline using a thin tube and a syringe. On the machine I made two oil cans with lids. I cut the wicks out of felt. Usually wicks are made from threads. But it seems to me that felt wicks are more convenient to manufacture and work. A wick oiler delivers oil in a metered, economical manner, ensures uniform oil supply to rubbing surfaces and its filtration. In addition, the oil supply can be easily stopped and restored by simply removing and replacing the wick. Details about the manufacture and operation of felt wicks are described and shown in my last video: https://studio.youtube.com/video/-7bS... Before putting the oilers in place, I decided to measure their consumption. Checked on one. Spindle oil, I-20A. It turned out 5 drops in 2 minutes 40 seconds, this is 7.7 cm3 / hour. The oiler is working, everything is fine. But for such a small machine, such a consumption is too large. Reduced consumption by shortening the wick. I measured the flow rate again, now 4 drops in 21 minutes 50 seconds, that is, 0.4 cm3 / hour. Another change on the PB is that I installed a felt ring on the thrust ball bearing to protect the bearing from dust, swarf and dirt. I will show you how I made this felt ring in the next video. I put the felt ring on the separator and install it on the spindle between the pulley and the left bearing. The bearing will now be protected. I think the sleeve bearing also needs to be protected. This is how I improved, in my opinion, the lubrication of the PB bearings and the protection of the ball bearing.
