How to Buy, Grow & Care for a Red Banana Tree | Also Sold as an Ensete Maurelii and Red Abyssinian

The Red Banana Tree is a beautiful plant to grow in a tropical garden. The leaves have the prettiest red colors with burgundy and green leaves. I have purchased many of these plants and now I buy them from Home Depot or Lowes for about $30. These are very resilient plants and you can buy them even if they are damaged. They can also be planted the same day. I water them twice a week, and fertilize twice a month. I prune the plants twice a year. My garden is in California in climate zone 9b. The Red Banana Tree stays outdoors all winter and loses its leaves from the cold weather.
