The Inhotim Institute is a must-see destination for art and nature lovers. Located in Brumadinho, about 50 km from Belo Horizonte (MG), the space was opened to the public in 2006. With over 140 hectares open to visitors, the institute houses a vast collection of contemporary Brazilian and international works. I visited the attractions there. Among them are the creations of the renowned Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama. Her immersive installations offer unique sensory experiences to visitors. Another important artistic contribution to the institute is from the Brazilian artist Valesca Soares, whose gallery reflects her work within a mirrored structure integrated into the natural landscape. In addition to the art galleries, the Inhotim Institute also offers accommodations inspired by Brazilian modernism. I can enjoy the comfort of private rooms surrounded by native forest while exploring the diverse cultural expressions present on site. The history of the land dates back to the 19th century when it was owned by the English Colonel Timothy. Hence the name "Inhotim".
