I travel to the other side (extra content) of the world to explore the Japanese province of Okinawa, starting in Miyakojima, an island known as "Tropical Japan." The trip includes crossing the Irabu Bridge, one of the longest bridges over the sea in the country, and Yonaha Maehama Beach, considered one of the most beautiful in Japan and a benchmark for sustainable tourism. In Naha, the capital of Okinawa, I delve into the history of the ancient Ryukyu Kingdom. The itinerary includes visits to Shuri Castle, a symbol of the blending of Chinese and Japanese cultures, and the Sefa-Utaki Shrine, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most sacred places in the region, where tradition, spirituality, and respect for nature remain alive. The trip also reveals aspects of the local culture, such as the handcrafted production of kimonos made from ramie fiber, a process that can take up to two years. I also meet a Japanese man who lived in Brazil and try on a garment valued at around R$ 8,000. The itinerary concludes with a visit to the Yukishio Museum, famous for its "snow salt," produced from underground seawater filtered by coral reefs.
