Raw and Candid | EP 10: The Significance of Ateneo de Naga

In celebration of July Ignatian Month and the closing of the landmark Ignatian Year, Jesuit Communications Foundation and Radyo Katipunan 87.9 FM present: "Raw and Candid: Philippine Jesuit History as told by Jesuit Legends"; a series of never-before-seen interviews with legendary pillars of the Philippine Jesuit Province as they speak about the history of the Jesuits in the Philippines. Featured in this video is Fr. Raul Bonoan, SJ. Fr. Bonoan entered the Society of Jesus on 20 June 1952 and was ordained a Priest in 1965. He taught Theology at the Ateneo de Manila University before becoming Dean of the School of Social Sciences. In 1988, he was appointed President of the Ateneo de Naga College. Beloved by faculty and students for his down-to-earth and personable style, Bonoan would engineer the transformation of the school into a University. On 6 April 1999, Bonoan suffered a massive heart attack which led to his untimely death.
