Tescaroli racconta il "Biennio di sangue", tra stragi e convivenza Stato-mafia

"For over 150 years, the state and multiple mafia organizations have coexisted in our country." How was this possible? "According to a Manichean logic that pits good against evil, and if good is represented by the state and evil by members of mafia organizations, it is inconceivable that this coexistence exists despite repression, and exists despite the state having far more resources than mafia organizations." Why this coexistence? The answer is not simple. Two clear points. The first is that the reality of the trials held has shown us that the dividing line between good and evil—that is, between the State and the mafia—is not so clear-cut. There are connecting links that allow mafia structures to achieve qualitatively higher results than they could achieve as mere criminal gangs, killing, trafficking drugs and weapons, setting fires, extorting protection money from people. And so we must try to concentrate our efforts on severing this connecting link. Preventing this from happening. And the other fact is that the mafia structures in our country, which are multifaceted, rely on social consensus, on the population, on the fear they are able to instill, on indifference. The speaker is Luca Tescaroli, Chief Prosecutor of Prato and author of the book "Biennio di sangue" (Two Years of Blood). Speaking in Cordenons, where the book published by Paper First was presented, the magistrate conducted a careful and detailed examination of the entire Cosa Nostra massacre context of the early 1990s. During his speech, he recalled the political objectives of those bombings of our country's artistic and cultural heritage, which resulted in 12 deaths and over 80 injuries: the closure of the Pianosa and Asinara super-prisons, the neutralization of the 41bis law, the containment of the law on informants and the confiscation of assets. These are all key tools in the hands of the state, and the mafia's strategy of massacres has succeeded in eliminating or weakening them over the years. ✅ Did you like this video?
