Brinley Richards: In Foreign Lands (Romance),Op.67 No.1

The Welsh composer (Henry) Brinley Richards (1817-85) was a master of 'bel canto' piano transcriptions of popular songs and operatic extracts, but also wrote original pieces. I have uploaded this video of an original piece at the request of a viewer. It dates from 1857 (or before) and seems to have had the original title 'En Absence' or 'In Absence' - and is thus an evocation of homesickness - not a depiction of overseas locations!
