🔥 Emporion was the first and most important Greek colony on the Iberian Peninsula. Called Ampurias in Spanish, and meaning "market," it became an important maritime outpost in Classical Antiquity, the Hellenistic period, and the Roman Republic. 🔥 The city was initially inhabited by both Greeks and Iberians. In fact, according to Strabo, there were both Greek and barbarian laws. Later, the Romans founded an adjacent city, which we also visit in this video.
