Splunk Dashboard Studio pass a token to another dashboard, including inputs such as a multiselect

In a previous video, I demonstrated how to pass a token from one dashboard to another, using Splunk’s Classic Simple XML format. In this video, we’ll explore how to achieve the same functionality with dashboards built using Splunk’s Dashboard Studio. I’ll begin with a basic dashboard created in Dashboard Studio and show how to pass the host name from a table to a new dashboard. Once the "host" token is passed to the target dashboard—also built in Dashboard Studio—I’ll demonstrate different techniques for working with that token, along with common pitfalls to watch out for. You’ll see some of the mistakes I encountered, along with how to diagnose issues and resolve them. I’ll build a dashboard with multiple panels and address challenges related to passing values that contain spaces. Additionally, I’ll show how to refactor searches using parent and chain searches to improve dashboard performance.
