Create entities for Splunk IT Essentials Work or ITSI, then assign them to an entity type

There are several ways to create entities in Splunk IT Service Intelligence (ITSI), and in this video, you'll see an example of importing entities from a Splunk search. Entities are typically hosts, but they can also include a wide variety of items such as cloud or virtual resources, network devices, applications, users, and cell towers. You can associate entities with services—available only in ITSI—to monitor your infrastructure at the service level. A service is a logical mapping of IT objects aligned with your business or mission goals, such as a physical or virtual machine, an application, a process, or a business service. For the links below that use 'ITSI' in the URL, you can replace it with 'ITEWork' to view the same document, curated for Splunk IT Essentials Work.
