There are a huge amount of remixes and arrangements of game music for Smash, but throughout the history of Smash, few have stood out to me as much as this track. This is a remix of “Stickerbush Symphony” from Donkey Kong Country 2, which is a masterpiece in and of itself, but somehow manages to construct an entirely new narrative out of the original track. While the original track is pretty calm and relaxing, this arrangement is much more driving and energetic, while retaining some of the lightness of the original. I associate this track most with playing the Subspace Emissary, one of my fondest childhood gaming memories 🙂 Overall, this track is a brilliant example of how a new arrangement or remix can completely change a source song, and give it a new meaning, or life of its own entirely! I definitely learned a lot from transcribing this arrangement, and hope you dig the arrangement for this ensemble 😄 This was an arrangement I DEFINITELY could have not pulled off on my own, since there are so many moving parts and intricate little things going on in the background!
