Collaborations are often some of the most rewarding videos I ever have the opportunity to work on, and this was no exception! Jules, Sab, and Adriana’s parts were all filmed out in San Diego, CA during a visit Sab and I took down there! We had a lot of fun filming and doing silly things together (as I’m sure you saw in the video). I’ve wanted to arrange Pollyanna for a while, but never had a perfect idea to represent the super-happy sentiments that this song has. While learning a few pop piano pieces to play at a graduation ceremony, I remembered “September” by Earth, Wind and Fire, and realized that would make a fantastic influence on this arrangement. If you’re at all familiar with September, you can probably hear a lot of similar mix elements and arrangement ideas in this particular video. And hey, what do you know, this video is coming out in September! Fun!
