Spicy Chicken Arvi Curry | Easy Homemade Chicken Arvi Recipe Ingredients ½ kg arvi (taro root), peeled and cut 1 tsp salt 1 cup oil 1 kg chicken 2 onions 2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste 3 tomatoes 4 green chilies 2 tbsp red chili powder 1 tsp turmeric powder 1 tbsp coriander powder Garam masala (including a pinch of nutmeg and mace) 2 tbsp yogurt 1 glass water Crushed kasuri methi Method 1. Peel and cut ½ kg arvi. Sprinkle 1 tsp salt over it and let it rest for 10–15 minutes. 2. Make a smooth paste using 2 onions and 2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste. 3. Blend 3 tomatoes and 4 green chilies into a smooth paste. 4. Heat 1 cup oil in a pan. 5. Wash the salted arvi thoroughly, then deep-fry it until lightly golden. Remove and set aside. 6. In the same oil, add 1 kg chicken and fry until it turns lightly golden. 7. Add the onion and ginger-garlic paste and sauté until the raw smell disappears. 8. Add 2 tbsp red chili powder, 1 tsp turmeric powder, and 1 tbsp coriander powder. Mix well and cook for 2–3 minutes. 9. Add the tomato and green chili paste and cook until the oil separates. 10. Add a little water, cover, and cook for 2–3 minutes. 11. Add the garam masala (including a pinch of nutmeg and mace) and mix well. 12. Add 2 tbsp yogurt and mix well. 13. Cook until the oil separates. 14. Add the fried arvi and sauté for 2–4 minutes. 15. Add 1 glass of water and cook on low heat until the arvi is tender. 16. Finally, add crushed kasuri methi, cover, and let it simmer for a few minutes. Your delicious Chicken Arvi Curry is ready! Serve hot with naan, roti, or steamed rice and enjoy.
