I made a Beautiful Touring Wagon - Bring Earplugs

Today we're taking on one of the strangest wagon castings in my collection and turning it into a custom cruiser with a classic 1950s-inspired look. The Hot Wheels Eight Crate starts life as a fantasy casting featuring a mid-engine layout, oversized rear intake, and a body style that doesn't quite know whether it's a hot rod, wagon, or muscle car. Rather than fight the design, I decided to lean into it and create a clean two-tone custom inspired by classic Ford ranch wagons and vintage custom cars. After stripping the original paint, I installed a set of oversized wheels that had been waiting for the perfect project, lowered the stance, and modified the glass to create the appearance of a proper painted metal roof. From there, I mixed up a custom creamy yellow paint and paired it with bright white to create a classic two-tone color combination. One of the most challenging parts of the build was masking and painting the chrome trim. Using careful tape work and Createx Quicksilver, I recreated the factory-style trim while keeping the clean custom look intact. The final result transforms this unusual fantasy casting into a stylish custom wagon with a classic vibe, modern stance, detailed trim, and just enough weirdness to keep the original Eight Crate character alive. Big thanks to Mqueaky and family for sending in another great wagon project. 0:06 – Customizing the Hot Wheels Eight Crate Wagon 1:18 – The Metal Roof Conversion Idea 2:26 – Choosing Wheels and Building the Stance 4:53 – Instagram Inspiration and Paint Planning 5:50 – Mixing a Custom Creamy Yellow Paint 7:35 – Creating the Two-Tone Wagon Paint Scheme 11:05 – Masking and Painting the Chrome Trim 15:39 – Final Eight Crate Wagon Reveal FOLLOW THE ADVENTURES 🎥 Northern Gold (Prospecting Channel) YouTube: @NGProspecting 📍 Northern Gold Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?... 🚗 Diecast Resurrection Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?... #hotwheels #hotwheelscustoms #diecast #diecastcars #customdiecast #Hotwheels #Restoration #Matchbox #diecast #toycars
