Southern photographers, a documentary web series that traces the stories and creative processes of some of the most important Chilean photographers. Project financed by the audiovisual development fund call 2025. 🎞️ In this first chapter, the life and work of Rodrigo Gómez Rovira, renowned Chilean photographer, artistic director of the International Photography Festival of Valparaíso (FIFV) and member of the French photography agency VU. Self-taught, he has published the books Repertoire (FIFV Ediciones, 2013), Cuaderno fotográfico. Valparaíso (FIFV, 2014), Último sur (Xavier Barral, 2019), Anvers 1996 Valparaíso (Buen lugar, 2024) Chincha (Buen Lugar, 2024) and El Terrado (FIFV ediciones, 2018). He has also edited several photography publications within the framework of FIFV. In 2020, he received the French state medal of Chevalier des arts et des lettres. Among the media for which he has collaborated are Le Monde, Libération, Newsweek, Elle and Paula.
