Mercedes W124 models were equipped with a variety of gasoline and diesel engines, including the iconic 5.0-liter 326-horsepower unit. Under the hood of this Mercedes is a 2.3-liter M102 engine producing 136 hp, or 132 hp at 5,100 rpm with a catalytic converter. Torque is 205 Nm at 3,500 rpm. The KE-Jetronic fuel injection system is one of those that, as they say, is invincible. The interior of the base Mercedes is a realm of simplicity and functionality. No leather, manual windows and seat adjustments. Even the left-hand mirror is manually adjustable, only the right one is electric. There's no air conditioning either. This expensive feature wasn't considered essential in Europe, especially in Germany, back then. They were installed primarily on cars for the American market. Heated mirrors were more important for Europe. And instead of air conditioning, there was a sunroof, but this time with an electric one.
