The owner of a clothing store on Sojiji-dori Shopping Street in Monzen-cho, Wajima City, Ishikawa Prefecture, has been recording and sharing information about the area around Sojiji Temple's main temple, the shopping street, and the activities of the Monzen Branch of the Wajima City Fire Department, from the time of the disaster to the present, in an effort to restore the area. After the last earthquake 17 years ago (the Noto Peninsula earthquake), I feel like many people declined interviews due to concerns about reputational damage. But I believe we cannot continue doing the same thing with this earthquake. And then, on September 21st, heavy rains hit Noto. Monzen-cho, Wajima City, became a doubly affected area. I hope to continue recording.
