Rivington Terraced Gardens, Horwich, Bolton

Rivington Terraced Gardens is situated in parkland grounds just off Rivington Lane. Our visit was on a dismal wet day, and not finding a plan of the grounds, we weren't clear which one to take up. As parked at the Barn Cafe, we began with Rivington Reservoir then eventually (after much guesswork,) found an entrance to the Japanese Gardens. The series of Terraced Gardens themselves, were expansive, leading into enclosed gardens, ponds and lawns. With such a drab wet cold day, it was a relief to get back for a hot drink at the Barn Cafe.
