Accessing Community Sports and Recreation Opportunities: The 'Why' and the 'How'

This presentation discusses the many benefits of access to and participation in sports and outdoor activities from a holistic perspective that considers not just the health and wellness of the individual with disabilities but also the family unit and community. Once establishing the many benefits of having your child or client involved in recreational sports and physical activity, we tackle the HOW, reviewing resources for funding, equipment, and programming. Some of the resources are focused on what is available in the Greater Boston area but many similar programs exist all over the country!
