Why Haven’t I Retired Yet?

Something I've been wrestling with lately: If your retirement calculator says you can retire... why are you still working? A year ago, the answer would have been simple: I didn't have enough money. Today, I'm not so sure that's the answer anymore. In this video, I talk through one of the biggest questions I've faced on my path toward retirement: if the finances work, how do you know when it's actually time to leave? We often spend years focused on saving, investing, retirement accounts, withdrawal strategies. But eventually the question changes. Retirement stops being a financial decision and starts becoming a life decision. I talk about: why I'm still working healthcare concerns wanting a margin of safety enjoying parts of my profession the reality that time is not unlimited and how I'm thinking about retirement now that it feels much closer than it used to I'm Reggie. I'm 51 years old and working toward retirement in the next 1–3 years. This channel is where I'm thinking through retirement, financial independence, purpose, time freedom, and life after work in real time. If you're navigating retirement, early retirement, semi-retirement, or simply trying to figure out what comes next, I'd be glad to have you along for the conversation. Question for you: If money wasn't the issue... what would be the hardest part about retiring? I'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments. #retirement #earlyretirement #financialindependence #retirementplanning #retireearly #lifeafterwork #retirementlifestyle #financialfreedom #genx #retirementcommunity
