A Lucky Stock Gain Changed My Retirement Timeline

Something unexpected happened recently that completely changed the way I’m thinking about my retirement timeline. A stock I bought back in 2023 suddenly exploded in value, It went up over 2,000%! And this is forcing me to start asking some new questions: Do I still need to work another 3–5 years? Could I retire sooner? Should I rethink my timeline completely? And how do you avoid confusing luck with certainty? In this video, I walk through what happened, why it made me both excited and nervous, and how it’s changing the way I think about retirement, partial retirement, and financial planning. As I’ve said before, I’m not a financial advisor and this is absolutely not investment advice. Most of my retirement strategy is still based on broad index funds, ETFs, and long-term investing. This was a lucky speculative position that unexpectedly changed the math. I’m Reggie. I’m 50 years old and working toward retirement in the next few years. This channel is where I’m trying to make sense of retirement, money, work, and life changes in real time.
