One day in FLORENCE ITALY

Florence, Italy After visiting Rome and Orvieto we spent a full day in Florence Italy. There is so much to see in Florence, we started with a walking tour to the main cathedral - Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore with Brunelleschi's Dome, we then walked to the famous bridge over the River Arno - the Ponte Vecchio. Walking along the river we walked through the Uffizi Gallery courtyard to the Piazza del Signoria where there was a ceremony for the Italian Independence Day. After our walking tour with our guide, we wandered the streets on our own for some free time, doing some shopping, stopping for lunch, and watching some amazing street performances. Next up we went to the Galleria del Accademia to see David and we were surprised with free entry for the holiday! This museum has some incredible art! We then headed back to the Duomo to see if we could walk to the top of the Dome for views of Florence. Unfortunately, tickets were sold out for the day, but we were able to tour inside the cathedral.
