However, Mr. Drysdale arranges for their first plane trip, hoping to make their journey easier. Unfamiliar with air travel, the Clampetts assume the plane is a large bus and are startled when it takes off into the sky. Meanwhile, back in the hills, Homer Winch (Paul Winchell), a suitor of Pearl’s, visits her home. During their conversation, he mentions that Mr. Brewster is at Jed’s cabin. Pearl, eager to impress Brewster, rushes over, cooks him a feast, and tidies up the cabin. Her excitement fades when Brewster asks her to become his housekeeper in Tulsa, a request she misinterpreted as a proposal. Hurt and embarrassed, Pearl declares she’ll visit Jed for Christmas to share how Brewster misled her. While the Clampetts sleep on the plane, the stewardesses begin showing a cowboy film. Upon waking, the family becomes confused, thinking they’re on the ground chasing real cowboys. Meanwhile, Drysdale calls Brewster and urges him to keep Pearl at home to avoid spoiling the Christmas surprise he’s planned for Jed. Brewster tries to keep Pearl from leaving without giving her false hope, but his efforts are interrupted when the Clampetts arrive unexpectedly. The tension subsides as everyone gathers together, and the group shares in the holiday spirit by singing Christmas carols, bringing the festive reunion to a joyful close.
