COSTA BRAVA: SCHÖN, ABER ...!

We're driving our motorhome from France to Spain, and our start on the Costa Brava doesn't go quite as we'd hoped. Firstly, it's still incredibly busy in October, and the campsites and caravan sites are overcrowded. We can't find a laundromat, so we're forced to go to the Aquarius campsite because it's one of the few still open. But everything here annoys us: the hedge trimmer next to us, the neighbors smoking cigars, walking and driving across our plot, the reception that's totally inflexible, and the restaurant that serves sausages and fries. This isn't Spain, and you don't need a campsite for this annoying commotion! So we cut our stay short after just one night, get annoyed once again with our allotment... er, colleague who's (illegally) washing his car at the waste disposal station and thus blocking it, and continue driving along the Costa Brava. To have a few more campsite options, we get the motorhome campsite guide España Discovery from a campsite that's also full. But then the Costa Brava slowly makes peace with us. The route to Tosa del Mar is beautiful, and in Piñeda de Mar we find a simple campsite that suits our taste. Before we arrive, however, we almost rip the water tank off the camper after being hit by a wave. We then spend a wonderful evening at the tapas restaurant recommended by the campsite owner. And now we're truly happy and have arrived in Spain!
