Extra reporters Vanessa Deubel and Burkhard Kress uncovered a system of human trafficking and exploitation during their months-long undercover investigation: Traditional Chinese massage parlors often conceal illegal brothels in the middle of apartment buildings and shopping streets. The masseuses are usually smuggled illegally from China to Germany under false pretenses and are completely dependent on their traffickers. Some don't even know where they are in Germany. We learn what really happens in these studios when our reporter, Burkhard, infiltrates them as a customer with a hidden camera and is harassed in every studio we inspect within a very short time. We confront the owners of these studios and are also present at a court case where a human trafficking ring is being prosecuted. In addition, we send a colleague with a hidden camera into Chinese massage parlors, supposedly to find a job as a masseuse.
