🏃‍♂️ Bethlem Royal Hospital parkrun! Course overview, amenities, things to know, and #2 of 81 LonDone! 📊 BETHLEM ROYAL HOSPITAL PARKRUN IMPORTANT BITS: • PB Potential: Low (Undulating, grass, VERY muddy in winter.) • Pacers: No • Terrain & Footwear: Grass. Trail shoes recommended, required in winter. • Toilets: Yes at the Community Centre • Café: Yes at the Community Centre. CASH ONLY! • Transit: Free parking limited spaces. Public transport encouraged. • Buggies: Not recommended, uneven terrain, very thick winter mud. • Dogs: 🚫 STRICTLY NO DOGS ALLOWED. Because this is a functioning hospital site, dogs are barred from the event (except assistance dogs). ⚠️ Course Tip: ARRIVE EARLY! The hospital grounds are massive and a little confusing. It is well sign posted, and volunteers give directions, but arrive early just in case. 🎒 THINGS TO DO NEARBY (PERFECT FOR POST-RUN): 1. 🏛️ Bethlem Museum of the Mind: Located right on-site, it features incredible art collections by former patients (including Louis Wain and Richard Dadd) and explores the history of mental healthcare. 2. 🌳 Croydon & Beckenham Woodlands: Take a peaceful stroll through Monks Orchard or visit nearby Kelsey Park if you want to stretch your legs further.
