Costa Di Casamadre

Casamadre Coast 2,538 meters above sea level, at least according to my Garmin data (3 meters higher than the information on the signs). It effectively constituted the most advanced line of the Italian defensive deployment during the Great War. About halfway along the trail, you begin to see (and can visit) the remains of the Italian outpost (observation posts, shelters, and trenches). The trail begins near the Paradiso cable car, where you can park your car. When you reach the altitude where the cross is located, you'll find an observatory (Cima Castellaccio) from which the Italian army could observe the eastern slope of Mount Tonale and the Austro-Hungarian enemy lines. This observatory also allowed for the coordination of the fire of the various artillery pieces positioned further down the valley, as well as the fire of the six 149mm guns housed in the armored cupolas of the Corno d'Aola Fort. This stretch of the Tonale advanced barrier was the one most exposed to Austrian attacks. Equipment @HelikonTex @511tactical @mechanixweargloves @Garmin @DJI
