The Way of Jesus made Visible [9am Sermon]

The Way of Jesus made Visible Series: Paul’s Letter to the Philippians - Living the Way of Jesus Readings: Philippians 4:1-20. Preacher: Phil Swain We conclude our series on Philippians, Living the Way of Jesus, as Phil preaches on Philippians 4 and the theme “The Way of Jesus Made Visible.” Throughout this letter, Paul has been encouraging the Philippians not only to know about Jesus, but to know Christ deeply and to live in his way. In this final chapter, Paul shows what that can look like in the everyday life of a Christian community — in the way we handle disagreement, the way we speak with gentleness, the way we bring our worries to God in prayer, the things we choose to dwell on, and the way we practise contentment and generosity. As we explore this great chapter (and some of it's very well-known verses), our prayer is that we might find some fresh insights into what it means for us to live in the way of Jesus and how to be a community whose life is so shaped by Jesus that when people see how we live, they catch a glimpse of Christ.
