Lake Cachuma - solo minivan camping with my dog (and falling trees)!

Join me as I return to Lake Cachuma, California — the only place I ever camped as a child. Now, decades later, I’m revisiting this beautiful lakeside campground to reconnect with my roots and experience the peaceful nature I remembered… but this trip wasn’t without surprises! 🏕️ I scored a campsite right on the water with stunning views, but things didn’t go exactly as planned. From rude neighbors walking through my site, to a tree branch nearly hitting my 2006 Toyota Sienna minivan, and not bringing the right camping food — it was an unforgettable adventure filled with ups and downs. Despite the hiccups, my senior Shih Tzu dog and I had a wonderful time soaking in the beauty of the lake, listening to the birds, and enjoying the peaceful serenity that only camping can bring. 🌲 Have you ever returned to a childhood destination as an adult?
