Schindler 5400 Traction Elevators - Guest Rooms [Novotel Paris Vaugirard]

I was excited to learn that the hotel I was staying at for the Paris part of my trip has Schindler Traction Elevators WITH M-SERIES TOUCH SENSITIVE BUTTONS! Really, these are EXCELLENT elevators. Very smooth, quite fast for low-rise, good doors operators (with bumpers AND sensors, a first for me) and VERY cool fixtures. The M-series fixtures are true-touch sensitive; they may even be heat sensitive. I noticed that they only seem to work with something warm, as when I pressed on them with a fingernail they did not work. Interestingly the alarm button used a pressable M-series button; this was probably done to prevent someone from accidentally bushing against and thereby setting off the alarm. The second day I was at the hotel a few Schindler mechanics had the doors of the center elevator open in the lobby, allowing one to see into the pit. That particular car was making weird noises that day.
