She was still in the second year of high school, living in Izumo, a remote place in the San'in Region, when she claimed her career first shogi title Kurashiki Toka in November 2008. Originally broadcast in 2009, this 10-minute documentary traces her struggle for becoming one of the top women's shogi players.
