Getting a slice of humble pie at Bennett Gap in Pisgah, NC

Bennett Gap is another Pisgah classic, easily accesed by riding or shuttling avery creek road, and commonly done in combination with Buckwheat Knob, its a popular option when you're looking to get a short ride in with lots of variety. You'll find everything here, from super fast to very technical, all kinds of intermediate-advanced riders will love this one. After you've gotten past the the first big downhill steps, the second staircase and the rooty trials like climb, the character of the trail changes drastically, you're all done with the technical descents and climbs and you're up for a much flowier section where you can play a bit more with some speed and letting the bike flow. As you get closer to the bottom of the trail it flattens out a bit, just enough to give you a big confidence boost, this section can be ridden with long brakeless stretches making a great place to get some nice speed without the technical factor you have to deal with further up on the trail. Overall this is one of the most fun trails I've ever ridden, it shows all of the Pisgah aspects in one place, the variety is a testament to everything you can find out here.
