They require the least attention, somewhere on a par with chickens. I gave them hay, threw in beets, opened the pen and that's it. Of course, it wasn't always like this, it was only when the electric shepherd appeared that I relaxed, before that I grazed for hours, and they also judged quite well. If you have a place to graze, then keeping sheep for meat or milk is the best option. For steers, you either need to prepare a lot of hay (when kept in stalls), or drag them here and there to pasture. Pigs need grain, and sheep eat almost everything. By the way, unlike cows, which can refuse water if even a drop of milk gets in there, sheep really like to drink whey and get additional nutrients from it. When we produced a large amount of cheese, we constantly gave excess whey to sheep. Then they gain weight faster, their immunity improves, and their wool is even better. Swampy terrain and bushes where you can't push cows are also suitable for sheep grazing. Some experts, especially I heard this from beekeepers, complain that sheep give out meadows and nothing grows after them. There is even a myth that the Oleshkivskiy sands (unfortunately now occupied) in the south of our country appeared due to too active sheep grazing. In fact, several factors came together there and overgrazing of large flocks was only one of the factors. With a competent approach, sheep grazing, on the contrary, is beneficial. Here we had almost no grass, for two years in a row there was an electric shepherd (of course, not constantly) and look at this carpet of grass now. It can be used for all animals, including cows, as well as for poultry. I now have an idea to combine keeping sheep and geese on one site because geese don't go through the shepherd either, and if they are given free rein, they will pull out onions and eat cabbage in the garden.
