Top Dog Fighting Highlights | April 18, 2026 | FMA Adaptation Under Pressure
April 18, 2026 brought a smaller group of fighters to the mats, but the quality of the action more than made up for the reduced numbers. This session featured several excellent exchanges that highlighted one of the most important skills in martial arts and self-defense: the ability to adapt in real time. Fighters were constantly forced to make adjustments under pressure as new attacks, angles, and movement patterns emerged throughout each round. One of the themes of this session was the continued evolution of our weapons-based sparring. We saw multiple examples of Pakal versus Saksak engagements, along with several fighters experimenting with Silat-inspired entries, angles, and attacks. These variations created problems that many participants had not previously encountered, forcing immediate tactical adjustments and rewarding strong footwork, timing, and awareness. What made these rounds particularly interesting was watching experienced fighters improvise solutions on the fly. Rather than relying on memorized techniques, participants had to read the situation, adapt to unfamiliar attacks, and find answers while under pressure. Those moments are often where the most valuable lessons are learned. Whether you're interested in Filipino Martial Arts, Silat, self-defense, or simply enjoy watching skilled practitioners pressure-test their abilities, we hope you enjoy these highlights from another outstanding Top Dog Fighting session. Special thanks to all of the fighters who stepped onto the mats and contributed to a safe, challenging, and educational training environment.
