Growing Rosella: Edible Hibiscus

Morag Gamble of Our Permaculture Life (https://ourpermaculturelife.com) tells us how to grow and use the hardy edible hibiscus, Rosella (Hibiscus sabdariffa). The Rosella 'fruits' make an amazingly delicious tea that is high in Vitamin C. They are often used in making jams and syrups too. The flowers, the calyx (Rosella 'fruits') and the leaves are all edible and the stems are a useful and strong fibre. Originally from tropical West Africa, Rosella is suited to warmer climates. It is perennial in the tropics and annual in the subtropics. It can grow in a wide range of soils and is a robust and resilient plant that has few pests. More soon from Morag about how to make your own fresh Rosella tea, rosella tea blends and dried rosella tea.
