GTLC Summer 168km (2026) / 6500 H+ / "A meeting with yourself"

The Grand Trail de Lacs at Chateaux is a 168 kilometer trail race in Belgium. With around 6500 meters of positive elevation it is one of the hardest 100 milers out there. The race is extra hard because of the point-to-point course and start at midnight. The start time pretty much guarantees that us mid-packers have to go through two nights. The course was hard but truly beautiful. In this trail race I got the full adventure, with many ups and downs. At the start I already had some physical problems and I was not convinced I would be able to finish this epic adventure. The weather was very variable. It was supposed to be the Summer Edition but it was very cold and at times also very wet. I was lucky to meet great new people and have support from friends at some critical moments in the race. With some luck, and a lot of grit and determination I finally made it. Because of how hard it was, the finish was all the more worthwhile.
