It's the biggest debate in the gas blowback world: VFC or MWS? I'm also an idiot and I buy a huge amount of airsoft replicas, so I've had plenty of hands-on time with both. But for most people who are not as dumb as I am, they just want to invest in one platform and stick with it. Making the right choice from the start is a big deal, especially when you get into gas blowbacks. It's not quite as easy and cheap as building an AEG, mainly because of the magazine cost. This video is my deep dive into both systems to finally settle the debate. So, who actually wins? If this is your first gas blowback and you've got the budget for it, I would probably say buy the MWS first. It's just a solid, reliable system that works consistently right out of the box. The MWS is generally going to run a lot better in colder climates, making it a dependable workhorse you can count on. It's much nicer to start with the MWS, have something that's your consistent base, and then maybe go and buy a VFC later to see what that's all about. It provides a fantastic baseline for performance. That said, I definitely am leaning towards buying more VFCs than I am MWSs these days. There is something about these VFCs which is very, very hard to put into words. The realism and the feel, especially the trigger, are on another level. To go from the VFC trigger and then buy the MWS, for me personally, I would find that harder to do. It's not just about the "Tokyo Marui magic" anymore; there is a lot to the VFC platform that makes it a serious contender and, for me, a more exciting experience overall. The financial side of this is a huge factor. You could be spending anywhere from $500 to $800 on a airsoft platform, and then you have to buy magazines. At about $50 on average per mag, the cost adds up fast. This isn't like an AEG where you can grab a few mid-caps for cheap.
