THE CARP - "FISH MILITIA" (Music video)

Despite what they keep telling you, there are only a handful of moments in life—fewer than you'd think—when something gives you both, what you love and exactly what you need. The Carp are one of those moments. I don't know if it's true that this wonderfully twisted, permanently bent gang of weirdos—who've also given us Cruelster, Perverts Again or Knowso—are really "hogging space"in the local scene", but one thing I do know is that Cleveland punk has a before and an after these "lovable" nutcases. And I don't even know if I should feel sorry for the ones who "didn't make the cut", but what I know beyond any doubt is that this three-piece's second LP for Total Punk is an absolute masterpiece that cuts through the bullshit and puts everything back into perspective. And this track in particular, despite all the "family drama," is one of the very best things I've heard all year. So I don't know whether you've got the "intuition and the speed" to keep up, but if there was ever a time to enlist in the Fish Militia, it's now, because records this outrageously good don't come around every day.
