Where Fallen Flags Still Rule: Three Days In Galesburg, Illinois

If you want to see Santa Fe and Burlington Northern painted locomotives, there is no better place to visit that Galesburg, Illinois. With two BNSF mainlines, loads of branches, and a gigantic yard, Galesburg is home to many fallen flag engines. Thus, I ended up back there in June of 2026, and this is what I saw.
