Living and Working on a Small Dairy Farm | Farmer's Point of View

In this video you can see us preparing for grass harvesting season which should start in a couple of weeks. I sharpen the blades on our Pottinger self-loading wagon, clean up our two empty silos and one of the two hay lofts. We set up new pasture for our heifers and deal with some straw bales. Being a small dairy farm, only family members work on it. Living and working on a farm can sometimes be difficult but it is still a great way to live. We have 60 heads of cattle, mainly simmetal breed and we milk about 35 of them. We farm in a fairly hilly area so our equipment is relatively small. Currently we own 4 tractors: Fiat DT55-56, New Holland TN70DA, Deutz Fahr Agroplus 85 and John Deere 5085M.We work around 20 hectares of mainly grass fields and about 2,5 hectares for silage corn. We also have 7 hectares of forest.
