This Indonesian City is TOO Friendly! 🇮🇩 (MEDAN, Sumatra)
Medan is the largest city on Sumatra island and is home to roughly 2.5 million people. Most foreign travelers only touch down into the airport and then connect directly to other destinations (Bukit Lawang or Lake Toba usually). Although this isn't a top tourist destination for many, I was quite excited to explore this city. Throughout my travels in various countries, I have quickly learned that many of my favorite cities are ones that have very little tourism, as it makes them great places to see how locals actually live and operate (far outside of the tourism industry). Medan did not disappoint. I found the people here to be some of the friendliest I have ever encountered in my travels. Hopefully I was able to capture just a little glimpse of the local life and hospitable people that exist all throughout this welcoming city! #medan #sumatra #northsumatra #gothamcity #solotravel
