American English '-Body' vs. '-One' - Undergraduate Scholars 2025
The University of Manchester's Undergraduate Scholars programme affords intellectually adventurous students the opportunity to carry out research. One group of the 2025 cohort investigated variation between 'everybody', 'somebody', 'nobody', 'anybody' vs. 'everyone', 'someone', 'no-one', 'anyone' in a custom made corpus of transcripts of speech by native speakers of American English. This is a recording of their final presentation on 14/5/2025.
