1928's "Ideal" Welding Machine Restoration - The BIZARRE Machine That Welds Sawblades?
In this restoration video, I restore a nearly century-old rusty bandsaw welding machine made in Germany by Ideal. About the restoration process: This project was one of the most challenging yet rewarding restoration video I’ve done. I learned a lot about welding machines and CNC machining along the way! When I first got the band saw welder, it was in terrible condition: the power cord was completely destroyed, the machine was not working at all, the Bakelite top lid had severe cracks, and the whole body was full of rust. Working together with the specialists from Makera, we rebuilt a 3D model of the broken lid and cut a brand-new one using the Carvera Air machine. The process took a couple of days, but we succeeded in restoring this vintage part, which was originally marked with a date: April 1928. At the end of the video, I run a test so you can see this antique saw blade welding machine working again! If you have any questions, feel free to leave a comment, and I’ll get back to you.
