How To Make Healthy Date Squares | Step-by-Step
Date squares are the perfect sweet but healthy treat...especially during the cold winter months! The best part is they are super QUICK & EASY to prepare! Hope you enjoy them as much as I do :D Ingredients: -• 1 ½ cup rolled oats • 1 ½ cup almond flour • ¾ tsp baking soda • 1 cup brown sugar (or coconut sugar like I’m using) • ¾ cup butter, softened • ¾ pound pitted dates (2 cups), diced • 1 cup water • 1/3 cup pure maple syrup • 1 tsp lemon juice • ¼ tsp salt Recipe: 1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees 2. Grab a large bowl and add in the oats, almond flour, salt, coconut sugar, baking soda & butter. 3. Mix the butter in until crumbly. 4. Press half of the mixture into a pan. 5. In a saucepan, combine the dates, water, pure maple syrup & bring to a boil. Lower down to medium heat & cook until thick. 6. Stir in the lemon juice. 7. Remove from heat and let sit. 8. Spread the date filling over the base in the pan. 9. Pat the remaining of the crumb mixture on top. 10. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the crumble on top is lightly toasted. Comment any questions or thoughts on this below.
